Discovery Time

 Discovery Time is a favourite time of the week for everyone.  Children get to chose from a large range  activities laid out in all 4 Rimu Nui  rooms. 

Rimu Nui is  Year 2's  new name it means   Big Rimu. 

Creating, Exploring and Sharing  ! 

Things From Home: 

If you can keep a bag and fill it up with lots of odds and ends suitable for  the creating craft table -we would love to have you donate it.

*Buttons, ribbon, fabric
*Shells, bits of drift, wood, leaves, moss,
*Paper and cardboard boxes.
* Milk tops,other tops 

I am always amazed by the range of resources the children use.

Meteors and Music

 Week 2 was a Week of Wonderment.

When the children arrived at school last Tuesday the found a large meteor like rock had landed in the play ground. It was surrounded by smaller rocks and a white smokey gas was coming out of it.
This event stimulated a lot of thinking and talking and  about the moon and meteors.

 Music Lessons started in Week.2  The lesson was lively and interactive. The children started to learn to play a glockenspeil.
