Art Exibition

Room 11 felt excited when they went to view the school art exhibition. 
Our class made paper mache Piggy Banks for our
3D piece of art.

We enjoyed looking at the art pieces other children had created.

We looked and talked about the things we noticed in other children's art.

 The collaborative art was  placed on the stage and people had a chance to buy them.
Our collaborative piece is the one in the middle.

Our 2D piece of art was a painting of spring blossoms and  birds. 

Art Show Week

 The children have been working really hard creating three pieces of art each for our whole school art show.

We hope you come to the art show  on Tuesday and enjoy viewing our final creations.

Tongan Language Week

Malo e lelei. .Last week was Tongan Language Week  It was a chance for us to learn more about the Tongan Language and customs.

 Some of the older children can and sang and danced for us. We joined in with the singing and every day we sang Tongan songs.

 We went into Nga Ringa Awhina to learn more about Tongan customs and art.

Celebrating Spring

Noa wrote : First we saw some marigolds. They had orange petalas and lots of bees buzzed around them. I loved looking at them .
Arnie wrote: Spring flowers are beautiful. They were yellow and purple and they were vibrant to look at.

We took advantage of some fine spring days to go for an explore around the school and visit some of the spring flowers.

Book Week

..everyday the speaker played a  notice said   "Stop, Drop and Read"..... and so we stopped whatever we were doing and  enjoyed  reading books !

Book Week was a lot of fun...

During writing we had a chance to write our own made up story. We were the authors!  We planned and added to the story over a few days, then we published it  into our own booklet. 

We had a Book Week assembly and  a Book Week Parade.

We got a  chance to  come to school dressed up as a book character. 

After assembly we had a class photo ..can you guess what some of our characters were ?
