Kia ora Room 17,
Here is your home learning choice board for Monday, 1st and Tuesday, 2nd March.
Room 17 enjoyed meeting their buddy class Room 7 last week when we dropped to Alert Level One. We all enjoyed playing a game out in the sunshine.
We're looking forward to spending more time together when we return to school.
Reading
This year your child will be asked to select their own book to read for enjoyment at home. This may be a book from home, a library book or a book from their group box at school. They should aim to read for at least 10 minutes each day and record this in their school Reading Log.
You could support your child's learning by asking them to tell you about the book that they are reading, or to retell the story to you. You could also ask them a few questions about the text.
Reading Logs need to be brought to school each Friday for the teacher to check.
Spelling
Our Spelling and Phonics programme will run during class time this year. If you have any queries about this please let us know.
Extra Homework
An optional weekly homework task will be available to students later in the year. This will be provided to them on a Monday and presented on a Friday to their classmates. We will keep you posted on this!
