Tessalations

We have been learning that the shape of the honeycomb in the beehive is made up of hexagon shapes and is a type of tessellation.


We are learning that tessellations are patterns made with  certain shapes joined together and there are no gaps or spaces. The repeating pattern can go on forever.


Here are some tessellations with hexagons ( 6 sided shape) and triangles ( 3 sided shapes ).
