Jellybean Music

This term Room 11 has had one music lesson a week with Jellybean music. We have been learning to enjoy music, and learning how to play musical instruments.

We started our lesson with a fun song about 'Slip, Slop, Slap and Wrap'. It was all about how we keep ourselves safe in the sun. We sang along, moved to the music and had fun doing the actions.

Next we got our Claves, we put them on our head and looked like aliens! Claves are two wooden sticks that we can use to make a beat or rhythm.

We used the Claves to tap a rhythm.

Then we opened up our glockenspiels so we were ready to play. We learned the notes and the rhythm so we could join in to a song about emergency services. We used our fingers to sound out the notes quietly and practice the rhythm.

When we got our stick we put it on our head like a unicorn horn!

Then it was time to play. We were able to play along to the song. We sounded just like emergency vehicles. Well done Room 11 you sounded awesome!
