Maui and the Magic of Fire

Maui and the Magic of Fire

Maui wanted to know where fire came from so he put all the fires out. Then he went to find his Grandmother the goddess of fire. She gave him a fire fingernail.

Maui threw each fingernail his grandmother gave him away and pretended he had lost them to trick her. Then she had to use her toenails. He even threw them away. Then she realised he was tricking her and got very angry. He turned into a bird and got burnt by her angry fire.

She threw her last toenail into the forest and the fire went inside the tree. So the people had to rub wood together to get fire.

This is my picture of her hand.

Nora's Koru Artwork!

Beautiful Koru Artwork By Charlie

Aidan's Mahi

Aroha

I show love to my family by helping with my little brothers.

Other ways I show love to my family is by doing the dishes and making sure we spend time alone (Which never really happens).

My parents return the love to me by caring for us, making food, making sure we have a home and making sure we have a good education.

Me and my siblings are grateful for that.

I show love to my friends by being kind to them and not leaving them out.

In lockdown, we’ve sent small gifts to each other.

Other ways I show love to them is by playing with them and making sure they don’t feel bad.

They would return it by being kind, helpful and definitely a great friend!
