Who can compete in Olympic events and what do they wear?
Men and women can do mountain biking at the Olympics. They wear a material with a combination of light and rigid materials, typically carbon fiber or aluminum so they can go faster. It lets the air flow through them to let them go faster. They also wear sunglasses to protect them from the dust and a helmet for safety.
What equipment do they use?
A gear bike like a trek one, they have a competitor number at the front for example 1485 and front and back brakes.
Interesting facts
Mountain biking has been going on for 25 years, which isn't that long at the Olympics.
Mountain bikers have to train for 4 years! Tom Pidcock won gold at the men's mountain biking, Mathias Flückiger won silver and David Valero won bronze at the Olympics
